Sponsorship Details The Kumbh Mela (Festival of India) 2008 is forecasted to attract around 8,000 people over a two day period from all around the Puget sound. The focus of the festival is to share arts, music, culture, drama and food of different cultures while promoting community and social harmony. The panoply of ethnicity and cultural traditions of the Seattle demographic is so rich that such a festival affords a friendly venue for the expression of their contribution to American society. On days 1 and 2 we plan to also have a number of East Indian regional groups perform under the banner of Festival of India. In addition, several charities are being invited to setup their information booths. Due to the large number of multicultural performing artists and groups, we expect a broad spectrum of visitors from many ethnic backgrounds. Last year the city of Seattle sponsored this event at Alki beach with their Department of Neighborhoods grant. The city had very positive feedback on the event and its organizers. This year Northwest SHARE would like to open up the event to corporate/ organizational sponsorship. The scope of the festival and the cultural diversity that it will present is such that it will attract a large number of people. There are several benefits of the sponsorship. Primarily it will showcase involvement of Microsoft in promoting community based activities that create social harmony and multicultural appreciation. The expectation is 50% of participants will be from East Indian origin, 25% from oriental origin and the remainder will be representative of American society. Please let us know if your organization wishes to participate in this unique event and I will ask the festival organizers to send a pricelist for sponsorship. Please let me know of any questions or if you would like for the organizers to do a formal presentation. Thank you in advance for your kind diligence in this matter.
